What is the BC Forest Safety Council?

The BC Forest Safety Council is an organization committed to upholding the highest health and safety practices and codes in BC’s forestry industry. This is applicable to any of the following jobs:

  • Forest harvesting
  • Sawmills
  • Pellet manufacturing

Established in 2004, the BC Forest Safety Council is tasked with improving health and safety measures in the forest sector.

What is SAFE Certified with the BC Forest Safety Council?

To be SAFE Certified with the BC Forest Safety Council means that your organization and its employees have undergone the necessary training and safety management system audit, and uphold the highest safety practices and codes at all times.

Organizations must display a continued commitment to safety practices and codes in order to remain SAFE Certified. Certification requires annual safety audits to be completed and submitted to the BC Forest Safety Council.
