Klassen Business Group Acquires West Coast Bark Products

We are pleased to announce that the Klassen Business Group has acquired West Coast Bark Products. After working together for decades, and more closely as a primary supplier since our acquisition of Friesen Bros Fuels in 2018, adding this family-owned company to ours was a natural step in our continued growth.

West Coast Bark Products was founded as Vancouver Mill Fuels in 1959 and our companies have been working together for many years. Primarily, West Coast Bark manufactures the raw bark that we provide into two main finished products, 1” and 1/2” mulch. This acquisition will significantly enhance our capabilities and allow us to provide a wider array of products and services with greater reach.

West Coast Bark Products is an ideal addition because their company and ours share many common values. For instance, we are both privately held family businesses founded on principles of honesty and integrity. Both West Coast Bark Products and our divisions of Valley Carriers and VitaTerra Soil & Mulch are built on a foundation of strong partnership relationships with our customers and a commitment to high product quality. These commonalities will produce a seamless integration of our companies’ philosophies, product offerings and services.

We specifically would like to honour the legacy of Tony Steer for a lifetime of hard work and fair, honest business; we are thrilled to carry on this legacy for decades to come by bringing West Coast Bark Products into the Klassen Business Group family.
